Destination Unknown, WLUWCategory: news |

I’d say it’s bittersweet, but it’s not even that. I’m really sad to announce that Kamar will no longer be doing Destination Unknown regularly after tonight. He has other obligations now that he needs to concentrate on, so I will take over…but I think I will always think of it as his show. While I don’t always play the same things he does, I’ve been listening to Kamar’s show for years now, and I aim to try to keep it from straying too far from its original format and have him guest dj as much as possible.
As you may have heard, WLUW is changing hands back to Loyola University next year, so my time there may be rather short. Enjoy it while you can!

28 Years of NeoCategory: news |

Twenty-eight years. TWENTY-eight years?!?!
By my completely unsubstantiated estimation, this is the longest running goth-industrial club in North America [not that anyone has played any goth there in years]. The anniversary parties are always a great time, even if you’re not a regular; almost every resident dj will have a set, and there’s an atmosphere of celebration that cannot be matched any other night of the year there. Us Chicagoans often take it for granted, but sometimes, when guests from out of town insist that I take them there, or I myself am far away and looking for things to do, I am reminded that there’s no place quite like Neo anywhere in the country. I’m quite proud to be djing there next Sunday, and I look forward to being around for the 29th.
