From her hometown of Tehran to her current home of Chicago, Bita Bits has lived in more places than many of us have been, soaking up little bits of each to influence her tech-house sets and production as part of IHouse. Kid Color joins me at Destination Unknown this week. Though his sets traverse disco, house, electro, new wave, and soul territory, Kyle Woods’ sets have, to me at least, always held a certain get-on-the-floor-and-dance party vibe that many a DJ aspires to. He spins regularly at quite a few spots around Chicago (I’ll add more info on this later), but most notably at SmartBar, where he is both resident DJ and curator of Sunday weekly Dollar Disco.
